Deuces Wild Video Poker Strategy
Here's
a simple strategy guide for optimal play of Deuces Wild video
poker. Start at the top of the page and work your way down. When
you come to the hand which describes the cards you're holding,
search no further and follow the advice. Notice that the
strategy becomes more complicated the fewer deuces you hold in
hand.
4 Deuces
1. Hold the 4 deuces.
3 Deuces
1. Go for the royal flush.
2. If no royal flush possibility presents itself, then simply
hold the 3 deuces.
2 Deuces
1. Hold onto any made 4-of-a-kind.
2. If you hold 4 to a royal flush, hold this.
3. If you have 4 to a straight flush, hold these cards. Do this
only if you have 2 consecutive singletons and only if these are
6-7 and up.
4. If you do not have 4-of-a-kind, 4 to a royal flush or 4 to a
straight flush, simply hold 2 deuces and discard the rest.

Deuce
1. Hold any 4-of-a-kind.
2. Hold 4 to a royal flush.
3. Stand on a full house.
4. Hold 4 to a straight flush, but only if you have 3
consecutive singletons of 5 or higher.
5. Hold a 3 of a kind and discard the rest.
6. Any other 4 to a straight flush besides example #4 (on one
deuce).
7. Hold 3 to a royal flush.
8. Hold 3 to a straight flush, if you have 2 consecutive
singletons starting with a 6 or higher.
9. If none of the 8 conditions above apply, simply hold onto the
1 deuce.
No Deuces
1. Hold 4 to a royal flush or a made royal flush.
2. Stand on any made paying hand.
3. Hold 4 to a straight flush.
4. Hold 3 to a royal flush.
5. Hold any pair.
6. Hold any 4 to a flush.
7. Hold any 4 to an outside straight.
8. Hold any 3 to a straight flush.
9. Hold any 4 to an inside straight. The only exception is when
it is missing a deuce.
10. Hold 2 to a royal flush, but only if you have J-Q high.
This is a simplified version of optimal play. If you play this
on a full pay machine, you will have a slight positive
expectation. Remember to join the casino's slots club before
playing one hand. Also be sure to collect any comps the casino
might offer.
Remember these are in descending order. If you
are holding one at the top of the list, disregard instructions
further down the list.
